Practice Keyboarding Page 10: Punctuation The Semicolon and the Colon
Practice typing in this box. Reset when you are finished with a row. Punctuation helps the reader understand what the writer means. A period means the writer and written a sentence that contains a full thought. A semicolon is put between equal sentences that are closely related. Example: The gardeners had planted the red, white and blue tulips carefully; they blossomed in the shape of an American flag. With the pinky finger of your right hand, press the ; semicolon and release. Practice ;;;;;;;;;;;;; Now type a colon :. With the pinky finger of your left hand hold down the shift key. Wth the pinky finger of your right hand press the ; key.
