Arctic Hare

The Arctic Hare will stay white year round in the northern areas of its range. It is said to run as fast as 50 kilometers per hour.

Biomes:    Arctic Tundra, Oceanic islands

Habitats: Arctic tundra from sea level to mountains. Digs a den in the snow or ground. Does not live in warrens as rabbits do.

Range: Across Canada from Newfoundland to the Northwest Territories. Also found in Greenland and on oceanic islands.

Status: Stable
