ARCTIC TUNDRA

Tundra is above the tree line. Trees will not grow above or below a certain latitude. It is too cold.

The land is always frozen below the surface. This is called permafrost. In the spring the top of the land defrosts and plants will grow. The land feels squishy and full of water because just a few centimeters below, the land is still frozen.
