LANDFORMS |
A
landform is a natural, physical feature of the earth's surface. We
have a lot of different land forms that help shape environments. Examples
are: continent, island,
peninsula, isthmus, plain, plateau, mountain, valley, delta, dune, volcano,
bog, swamp

PRECIPITATION |
Water droplets falling from clouds.
Droplets fall in different forms
such as rain, snow, hail |
TEMPERATURE |
A
measurement telling how
hot or cold it is. Temperature is measured by a thermometer. |
WEATHER |
Wind, precipitation, clouds, temperature at any given moment; usually for a
few days at most |
WIND |
Air
moving from an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure
Wind is measured by an
anemometer. |
ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE |
How
much air is pressing on you at any one moment. Air pressure can tell
us about what kind of weather to expect.
- If a high pressure
system is on its way, often you can expect cooler temperatures and clear
skies.
- If a low pressure
system is coming, then look for warmer weather, storms and rain.
Atmospheric pressure is
measured by a barometer. |
