Deciduous Forest

Temperate Forest  (Deciduous Forest)

A temperate (deciduous) forest has trees that turn to bright colors in fall and drop their leaves in winter. These trees are called deciduous trees. Examples of deciduous trees are the maple, oak, and elm.

Animals such as American Black Bear, Bald Eagle, White-Tail Deer, the turkey and squirrels live in the temperate forests of the world.

The climate in the region where temperate forests grow have four seasons: spring, summer, winter and fall. People like to live near temperate forests, too.
