Where does it live?

  • Place: The Indian Blue is a native of India and Sri Lanka (kept in captivity around the world)
  • Habitat:  India Blue - Deciduous Tropical Forest
  • It is a ground bird, although it can and does fly
  • Lays eggs in a nest on the ground, but prefers to sleep or "roost" in trees.

What does it eat?

  •  Likes insects.  Is very fond of snakes, even poisonous ones.

What does it looks like?

  •   Has powerful feet with three toes pointed forward and one pointed back.  Body weight is not in good proportion to the wingspan, so bird does not fly long distances well.  Prefers the ground.
